Teletherapy FAQs
iMatter Collective is primarily a virtual-based practice.
iMatter Psychotherapy sessions are held virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. Clients must be physically located in Virginia at the time of their psychotherapy session due to licensing requirements.
iRestore sessions may be offered virtually or in person depending on the type of service provided. Additional details will be discussed when determining the best fit for your needs.
You can access sessions using a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a reliable internet connection, camera, and audio capabilities.
Please test the platform on your device prior to your scheduled session to ensure everything is working properly. If you experience technical issues, please notify Dr. C promptly so they can be addressed in a timely manner.
Virtual sessions should not take place while operating or driving a vehicle.
Sessions may be conducted in a parked vehicle only if privacy can be maintained and no other individuals are present.
If you attempt to attend a session while driving, the session may be ended and a late cancellation fee may apply.

Privacy + Confidentiality
Dr. C prioritizes your privacy and confidentiality as essential aspects of care. She understands the sensitive nature of what may be shared during sessions and takes intentional steps to protect your personal information.
All interactions, discussions, and personal information shared during sessions are kept confidential in accordance with professional ethical guidelines and applicable laws.
Your personal information—including session content and identifying details—is handled with care and stored securely. While confidentiality is a priority, there are legal and ethical limitations. In rare circumstances involving concerns related to safety, risk of harm to yourself or others, or when required by law, Dr. C may be obligated to disclose certain information. Any disclosure is handled with discretion and only when necessary.
Virtual counseling sessions, phone calls, emails, direct messaging, and payments are facilitated through secure, encrypted, HIPAA-compliant platforms designed to protect the privacy and security of your protected health information (PHI).
Virtual Session Expectations
To help protect your privacy and maintain the quality of your care:
Virtual video and phone sessions should not be conducted in public settings (ex: while running errands, shopping, or in other public spaces), as these environments may compromise confidentiality.

Dr. C’s email and virtual platform are HIPAA-compliant and monitored regularly during standard business hours. Messages received outside of business hours will be reviewed and responded to on the next business day.
Secure messaging through the client portal is the preferred method for non-urgent communication.
The business phone number is primarily intended for brief communication regarding scheduling, administrative matters, or technical issues that may arise during sessions. Phone calls are limited and are not intended for ongoing therapeutic communication. Text communication should remain brief and limited to scheduling or technical concerns.
